Somerset and Dorset Railway Trust
About The Trust
The Somerset and Dorset Railway Trust was established in 1966 upon the closure of the Somerset and Dorset Railway. It aims to keep the memory of the Somerset and Dorset Railway (S&D) alive, and to create and maintain S&D items and documentation.

The Trust owns two preserved locomotives, namely a Fowler 7F class 2-8-0 freight locomotive designed specifically for the S&D, and ‘Kilmersdon’, a Peckett tank engine that worked in the local Somerset coalfield. It also has a museum collection, much of which is now located at Alresford on the Mid-Hants Railway.
