Railway Ramblers

About the Club

Railway Ramblers is the country’s leading association that organises walks specifically along disused railway lines throughout the UK.

Railway Ramblers is a national club with regional area groups. It organises a considerable number of walk programmes on a regional basis, which can number up to ten or so in aggregate per month. Some of these walks have access to former railway lines and property that are not normally publicly accessible.

For those with an interest in walking old railway lines, this is the club to join. With a membership fee of just £12, it is considerably cheaper than other national rambling associations.

As well as organising walks on former railway lines, Railway Ramblers promote and campaign for rail trails, records the history of lost lines, assists with signposting, clearance of undergrowth and other maintenance work on closed railway lines, and disseminates information through reports and newsletters.
