Railway Ramblers

About the Club

 

Railway Ramblers is a national club that organises walks and encourages interest in disused railway lines throughout the UK.

As well as organising walks on former railway lines, Railway Ramblers promote and campaign for rail trails, record the history of lost lines, assist with signposting, clearance of undergrowth and other maintenance work on closed railway lines, and disseminate information through reports and newsletters.

Benefits of Membership

  • Currently 11 area groups in England, Scotland and Wales, which organise walks, typically six to twelve per month in aggregate.

  • Encourage the preservation of old railway lines as footpaths and cycleways

  • Quarterly magazine, ‘Railway Ramblings’ featuring news, walk reports and forthcoming walks programme

  • An Annual General Meeting weekend at different locations around the country with extensive walking programme

Household (one or more at same address): £10

Overseas: £15

Group membership (groups of 10 or more): £30
