Railway Performance Society

About the Society

 

The Railway Performance Society is an organisation dedicated to recording and studying the performance of railways and the locomotives and traction used upon it.

​

Its members regularly record and analyse the performance of steam, diesel and electric traction throughout the UK, Europe and further afield. Society members contribute railway performance commentary and data to various publications including the Railway Magazine, Modern Locomotives Illustrated, Rail Express and Modern Railways.

How to Join:

Join by post or email.

​

(i) Join by post. Go to the Society’s website, (you can use this link: railperf.org.uk.) and click ‘Membership: Application Form’. Print off the application form, complete the form, and then post to ‘John Rishton, RPS Secretary, 16 Haycroft Drive, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands B74 4DN’, with cheque in relevant amount payable to ‘Railway Performance Society’.

(ii) Join by email. Instead of posting the application form, scan the completed form, and then email the same to ‘J_RISHTON[at]YAHOO[dot]CO.UK’ and make relevant payment by bank transfer as directed.
