- the Gresley Society is holding its Annual General Meeting, starting at 2pm. This will be followed by a presentation by John Morgan of his life & times as a locomotive cleaner, fireman and driver during his time at Kings Cross, Topshed, to which guests are welcome. Rail Riders have a visit to Freighliner's Merehead depot in Somerset. The guided tour starts at 10am at the entrance gate of Freightliner Merehead depot and finishes around 11.30am

 

Rail Riders also have a visit a little down the track at the East Somerset Railway Cranmore Station and sheds.  The visit takes place from 12 noon and will last 2 to 3 hours.

 

- the Signalling Record Society is holding an on-line meeting via Zoom. John Lacy presents ‘It's A Mystery’, pictures from the digital archive, followed by questions and answers and general.  Opens 10.30 for 11am start.

- the Welsh Railways Research Circle has an Archiving Day at its Rhiwderin Research Centre. Contact the Archivist to confirm before traveling. Opening times are 10:30am to 5pm.

- the London & North Western Railway Society have an open day at its Kenilworth Study Centre (Unit 6A, Princes Drive Industrial Estate, Coventry Road, Kenilworth Warwickshire, CV8 2FD).  Booking in advance is essential. Opening times 10am to 4pm.

 

On Monday 28 November:

- The Nantwich & Market Drayton Railway Society has a presentation entitled ‘Railways around Weymouth-Then and Now’ to be given by Martin Kent. Venue is The King's Head Inn, Shrewsbury Road, Market Drayton TF9 3EH. Start time, 8pm.

On Tuesday 29 November:

- the Tewkesbury YMCA Railway Society has a members’ slide/ DVD presentation evening. Location is at the YMCA, in Church Street, Tewkesbury. Start time 7.45pm.

- the Welsh Railways Research Circle has an Archiving Day at its Rhiwderin Research Centre. Contact the Archivist to confirm before traveling. Opening times are 10:30am to 5pm.

On Tuesday 29 November:

- the Haywoods Permanent Way has a presentation entitled ‘Hixon Rail Crash’ given by Dr. Malcolm Garner. Venue is the Sports and Social Club, Main Road, Great Haywood, Staffs, ST18 0SU. Start time is 7.30pm.

On Wednesday 30 November:

- the Ipswich and District Historical Transport Society has presentation entitled ‘Railways Round up 2021’ and ‘Vintage Australia’ given by Chris Evans. Venue is Salvation Army Citadel, 558 Woodbridge Road, Ipswich IP4 4PH. Start time is 7.30pm.

- Talking of Trains (Surbiton) has a class event entitled ‘British Rail to Great British Railways - In 30 Years’ to be given by Alex Green. This is part of ToT’s educational programme, but visitors are welcome. Venue is Surbiton Library Room, Ewell Road, Surbiton KT6 6AG. Times, 7pm to 9pm.
