Railfuture

About the Society

 

Railfuture is the UK’s leading campaign group for better rail services in the UK (both passenger and freight) and seeks to represent generally the interests of rail users. It acts as a pressure group as well as a centralised support for rail user groups. 

​

Railfuture is non-political and independent, not affiliated to or funded by any train companies, political parties or trade unions. It currently has 14 branches throughout the UK.

​

Benefits of Membership

​

  • Making a difference. Being part of a campaign group aiming to improve Britain’s railways. Campaigns are both national and local in nature

  • National organisation, with both central organisation, and branch system that covers entire UK  

  • Number of national meetings per year (Annual General Meeting and one or two Conferences) 

  • Fourteen branches in England, Scotland and Wales (the London and South East branch has six local divisions)

  • Holds frequent branch meetings (typically monthly or quarterly per branch). Members meet locally to identify and campaign on local issues. Local branches also issue own branch newsletters. Non-members may attend branch meetings free of charge

  • Issues quarterly magazine, ‘Railwatch’, with news and articles pertinent to the Society

  • Issues ‘Rail User Express’ for Rail User Groups and occasional ‘Rail Action' newsletters

  • Issues branch newsletters containing current branch news and local campaign information
