Wimborne Railway Society

About the Club


The Wimborne Railway Society aims to attract a broad range of people with an interest in railways, including both general railway enthusiasts and also railway modellers.


The Society meets twice a week, one meeting specifically for railway modellers, the other being a social evening for general mixing, with occasional presentations given on railway topics.


Benefits of Membership


  • Both a model railway and a traditional railway club

  • Weekly meetings (typically alternating between social meetings and presentation meetings)

  • Intensive programme of ‘presentation style’ meetings on railway themes, typically held twice a month

  • Newsletter, ‘Corkscrew’, issued six times per year

  • Own model railway exhibition, ‘WimRail’

  • Occasional trips to places of railway interest

Social: Every Thursday (with a presentation twice a month)

Modellers: Every Tuesday.
