Altrincham Electric Railway Preservation Society
Altrincham Electric Railway Preservation Society
The Altrincham Electric Railway Preservation Society was founded in 1970 to preserve an example of the 1931 Manchester South Junction and Altrincham Railway DC electric stock. It succeeded in purchasing two centre trailer coaches, which are now at the Midland Railway, Butterley. One of them (no.117) has been restored externally in MSJ&A livery. The Society now functions primarily as a local railway society for the Altrincham area.
