Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Society

About The Society

 

The Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway was a railway system with an extensive network throughout Lancashire and Yorkshire. Shortly prior to the 1923 grouping it was the third-largest railway system in northern England.

The Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Society is dedicated to bringing together people with an interest in the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway, both historically and in respect of the surviving network. The Society aims to find, record and disseminate information on the LYR past and present.
