Friends of Stockton and Darlington Railway
About the 'Friends'
The Friends of the Stockton and Darlington Railway aim to see the 1825 Stockton and Darlington Railway line gain recognition and protection, as the world's first modern railway from which all modern railways developed. It is a registered charitable body managed by trustees drawn from its membership.

The Friends seek to identify, preserve, promote and develop the line as an educational, cultural and historic site of international significance and to develop its recreational, economic and tourism potential.
